Methods of Church Planting

On Tuesday, October 19, Herb was able to participate in a panel discussion in a Methods of Church Planting class (Dr. Bruce McAllister’s) at Bob Jones University. We needed much more time to answer all the questions posed during that brief class hour. We pray that it stirred the hearts of the guys – may they have a passion to establsih God-honoring churches for the Lord. (Mom enjoyed getting to sit next to Ben, since he is part of that class.)

Ministry at Missions Conference

This week, October 18-21, we are ministering at the Missions Emphasis Week at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. We are trusting that the Lord will burden the hearts of students to consider serving the Lord in missions. We are seeking to learn of other ministries while here so we can know how we can better work together in the Lord’s work.

Language School Funds

We are so grateful for the Lord’s provision of funds for further language training in Costa Rica this coming January through April. Through the gracious gifts of God’s people we now have the necessary funds for both housing and schooling for those months. We are humbled by God’s willingness to use us in His service.

From North to South

From North to South

On Sunday, October 3 we ministered at Hedstrom Memorial Baptist Church in Cheektowaga, NY. It is always our privilege to share God’s Word, challenge God’s people and present our burden for reaching the growing Hispanic population in our country today. In the coming week we will travel to Maine, western Ohio, then to South Carolina and Georgia. From north to south, east to west – we will minister wherever the Lord leads!

The Lord Enabled

The Lord Enabled

After arriving in Cheektowaga, NY at about 12:30 a.m. on October 2, Wanda spoke three times the same day at a ladies’ retreat sponsored by Hedstrom Memorial Baptist Church. The Lord enabled – gave extra strength – in spite of the trailer repair challenges the day before. What a joy it always is to share God’s Word!

It took teamwork!

It took teamwork

It took both of us to get the fiberglass front bottom section of our trailer cap off when we had to make repairs on our trailer hitch on Friday, October 1. Thankfully, when we had to put all of this back together – after the welding job was completed – an “angel” (actually another waiting customer) helped us get it all back together. God was in control – kept us safe and we managed to stay awake to travel that evening from Front Royal, VA to Buffalo, NY.

Trailer Hitch Repairs

Trailer Hitch Repairs

On Thursday, September 30 as we were preparing to travel, Herb noticed a serious crack in our trailer hitch so we spent most of Friday, October 1 having it repaired. In the above picture, Herb and the welder are discussing the repair job. We were so thankful that we discovered the crack (actually there were three cracks once we got a closer look) before we had a serious accident. We worked on the repairs most of the day on Friday, October 1 and then traveled from 3:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. to the Buffalo, NY area for meetings. Grateful for HIS protection and provision once again!

A Welcome Sign

A Welcome Sign

On Sunday, September 26 we ministered at Fellowship Baptist Church in Dalton, PA. It was encouraging to see this “welcome sign” when we pulled in on Saturday afternoon.
