Our Traveling Partners

On July 30 Andrea and Alex Miranda (from our home church) started traveling with us on deputation for about 9 days. They joined us as we ministered at two churches and at Family Week at Camp Northfield in Northfield, MA. We were thrilled to have them with us!

Our Plans / God’s Plans

Our Plans God8217s Plans

On Wednesday, July 27 we were scheduled to get our fresh water tank replaced at the RV repair shop. However, the tank was not in. As we prepared to leave, Herb noticed something wrong with one side of the trailer. One of the spring shackles had broken. We tried to work on it for some time on our own (the picture above shows Herb underneath trying to break the shackles loose) but since we were lacking heavier equipment we finally asked the RV shop to make the repair. They ended up replacing all of the shackles. It was a repair and an expense that we hadn’t anticipated but if we hadn’t discovered the broken shackles there it could have caused serious damage later on or we would have broken down somewhere along the road. God’s plans changed our plans but we are thankful for HIS provision and protection.

Presenting the Ministry Once More

Here Herb is presenting the need of reaching HIspanics (our neighbors) at Blue Rock Baptist Church in Chandlersville, OH. Though we share the same information each week, we pray that the information and Biblical challenge will change people’s thinking about reaching those who are new to our land.

Our Traveling Pantry

Our Traveling Pantry

This afternoon (Saturday, July 3) we drove from Camden, Maine to Auburn, Maine – only a couple of hours. When we stepped into the trailer, we discovered that the pantry door was open and two of the pantry drawers were on the floor – with lots of food. There was flour and corn starch everywhere! But as I cleaned up the mess, I was thankful that I wasn’t cleaning up vinegar, olive oil, molasses, etc.. It could have been worse! Below is a picture of the finished product – all nice and neat! (Of course, it is next to the refrigerator that decided to quit on us last week. We have an appointment for that to be repaired – not sure what that will entail but we will see.)

Gracious Hospitality!

Gracious Hospitality

We so appreciated the gracious hospitality of Pastor and Mrs. Gillam and their daughter, Becca while we ministered in a missionary conference in Camden, Maine this past week. What a joy it was to fellowship together with these faithful servants of the Lord. May the Lord continue to bless their efforts to serve HIM!

A New Experience!

A New Experience

We were able to experience the process of preparing lobster this evening (July 2). The Gillams graciously shared with us and led us through the messy process of eating lobster. It was certainly a new experience – we can now say we have had “Maine lobster”! Thank you, Gillams, for sharing!
