Much of our ministry includes times of seeking to encourage fellow believers. Sometimes it is in English and sometimes in Spanish but we pray that whatever language is used that the Lord is honored and His people are strengthened. This photo was taken during our ministry trip to several Hispanic ministries in California in July 2019.
For a number of years a small group of Hispanic believers met together without a pastor. Finally, about a year ago the Lord provided Pastor Noé Vasquez to become their pastor. We rejoice to see the this group becoming a growing vital ministry. We are grateful for those who faithfully sought to keep it going through the years.
On July 15 we visited with our BCP Missionaries Tim and Susan Heinrich who serve at Crossroads Baptist Church in Tracy, CA. A few nights earlier we enjoyed participating in their VBS. This lunch was time for us to ask questions to know their needs, to learn how we can pray for them and their ministry and to support and encourage them in the months ahead.
On Sunday, July 14 we led a service that joined Fairway Park Baptist Church in Hayward, CA with BCP Missionary Carlos Vasquez (who leads Iglesia Bíblica la Roca in Hayward) and also BCP Missionaries Don and Joyce Shade (who assist BCP Missionaries Tim and Susan Heinrich in Tracy, CA). Fairway Park has agreed to be the “Sending / Accountability” Church for these missionaries. Pastor Charlie Eldred and the Fairway Park family will seek to encourage and support these two families and the missionaries will cultivate a relationship with the church family through reporting of their ministry and needs.
On June 30 we ministered at Iglesia Bautista Victoria in Sevierville, TN with Reuben Quiroz and his wife, Lidia. It was a blessing to see the Lord at work in their midst. We are grateful for these gracious friends and partners in the ministry.
We rejoice that our “summer son”, Felipe, recently married his sweetheart, Josalyn. Felipe lived with us for two summers while pursuing his college degree here in Greenville, SC. Felipe, from the country of Colombia, graduated from college in May. We look forward to seeing how the Lord will use these two in the ministry in the years ahead!
We enjoyed several days at the BMM School of Church Planting on June 10-13, 2019.
In June 2019 several members of our BCP Missionary Team joined us at the BMM School of Church Planting in Blue Ridge, VA. Those four days were filled with lots of information, many discussions and plenty to think about! We especially enjoyed visiting together with our fellow team members – discussing our “take-aways” from each day – as we gathered each evening. They were tiring days but well worth the time to be together! We are praying that there will be some practical ministry improvements in all of our ministries as a result.
